Materializing Indigenous Histories

Award announcement for Materializing Indigenous Histories

Materializing Indigenous Histories was developed through an Indigenous/Science research cluster at UBC and a SSHRC Partnership Development Grant awarded to Dr Andrew Martindale (UBCV Anthropology) in 2021. The project featured workshops, collaboration across conventional disciplines and a team workshop held in Sts’ailes in 2024. The team is finalizing an edited Elements Series for the Cambridge University Press. It includes a chapter by Dr Neha Gupta, Dr Sue Rowley (Museum of Anthropology, UBC) and Dr Rebecca Bourgeois (Western University) focusing on protocols and infrastructure in terms of Indigenous Data Sovereignty and repositories.
